Library at the Union Center
The Library is located in the lobby of the Union Center as well as in the back room in the SCA Learning Center area. Residents are encouraged to use the Library’s materials for their reading pleasure.
The Library contains both fiction and non-fiction. The fiction accounts for approximately 95% of the collection. The fiction collection starts in the Lobby area and continues into the back room of the SCA Learning Center area. The fiction collection is filed alphabetically by the author’s last name and then within each author alphabetically by title. The non-fiction collection, located in the back room, is filed alphabetically by title. Due to the limited shelf space, only single copies of books are kept.
Residents may borrow books on the honor system. We ask that when you take a book out you sign it out on the sign out sheets provided in both the Lobby and the back room. The sign out sheets help us develop statistics to document the growth of Library usage. Please return books in a timely manner.
Donations of new books for the Library are accepted on a limited basis. These donations should be recent titles less than 10 years old. Please do not bring more than several titles at a time, again due to our space constraints.
The Library at the Union Center is managed by the Book Club. Members take turns providing weekly shelving and distribution maintenance.
If you have questions or concerns regarding the Library, please contact Betty Wheeler at 520-509-1121.
